Variants for settlements

Hi Experts ,

I have a requirement of scheduling the settlement variants as background jobs.

In this process , i have created the variant through tcode CJ8V .In this variant , in the section of attributes i did noticed that there is an option called "Only for background processing "

After creating the varinat , i am running the collective settlements through CJ8G and here in this tcode i noticed another option

of "Background processing"

Can anyone throw some light as which of the option shouls i adopt ?

is the option avaliable in the attributes section of Variant or the option available in CJ8G or should i simply create the varinat and pass on to Basis team to schedule the background jobs.

CJ8V - only for background processing - means that the variant can only be used if you processing in background and not on line

CJ8G - background processing - means that you are running settlement in background
