Symptom
With many addons, there can be issues with the DI versions. This note explains how to check these versions
Other terms
DI, version, dll, DTW, SAPbobsCOM.dll, OBServerDLL.dll, correct, SAP Business One
Reason and Prerequisites
Need for information
Solution
To find out the DI version you need to check it in two places.
1. Locate the file SAPbobsCOMxx.dll where xx will be the Business One
version number. Go to properties -> version tab -> and in the list box find
the entry Special Build Description, this should be the same value as your
Business One patch level. If it is not you should uninstall the DI you have
at the moment and then reinstall the DI from your current Business One patch.
2. The second dll you need to check is a dll that is downloaded from the
SBO-COMMON database when the add-ons connect to the server. T
his dll is found in the following location %temp%\SM_OBS_DLL\XXXXXX\OBServerDLL.dll
where XXXXX is the Business One version e.g. 800230. When opening
the above path note %temp% is an enviornment variable and is unique
per operating system. With XXXXXX, there may be many of these
directories, so you should select the highest one, which represents the latest build.
When you find the dll OBServerDLL.dll, Right click on it and go to
properties -> version tab -> and in the list box find the entry Special Build
Description, this should have the same value as you B1 patch level.
If it doesn't wdelete the folder SM_OBS_DLL, this is a temporary folder so it is OK to do this.
Now restart the addon you are using (DTW, Fixed Assets e.t.c.), after it has initialised goto the %temp%\SM_OBS_DLL\XXXXXX\ folder again and look at the Special build
Description of the OBServerDLL.dll.
If again it is not the same version as the SBO-COMMON database
you should run the SBO-Common upgrade (after backing up the current SBO-Common database.
