Hi All,

Can someone explain the usage of 'Apply model from ES repository' in ID? Please provide some links as well.

And also the usage of 'Send system message' and 'Display system message' under 'System messages' in ID.

Thanks,

Vishal

Hi Vishal,

'Apply model from ES repository'

In Pi 7.0 We used to do integration scenario in IR which was meant for displaying the flow at one place and in ID we import the same and which helps in creation the configuration.this was used mostly as a one point reference for the interface configuration and link to objects used.

Similar to this in PI 7.1 ,modeling tool is introduced which can be used to design the Enterprise Services. Its far more efficient in terms of reuse

Basically Modeling is done to depict the process flow before implementation as required by business at a high level to avoid redundancy ,it has business Object ,process component's etc which are specific to particular industry.

Best examples can be the models designed by SAP as industry specific Xi contents(enterprise Service) which can be directly installed and used.

You can refer the links below for a good insight, but as a developer modeling is like a flow diagram with links to dev objects ,but if you planing to implement enterprise services and make a standard design to reuse with minimum effort in industry specific scenarios ,you can look at modeling as a interesting area.

Send system message' and 'Display system message' under 'System messages' in ID

As a Pi user/Admin you can notify the Pi BOX users about the system by sending a system message,

it is general used by system admin to send an information or alert to users about downtime expected .

when a user logs in he can see the message pop up with the ID of the system message creator.

Hi Vishal,

> Can someone explain the usage of 'Apply model from ES repository' in ID? Please provide some links as well.

PI 7.1 offering new feature called modeling, you can model your landscape and can create one model for one interface,

if you have created model for you interface you can select it from ID.

if you not created any model, then select No Model,if yiuy created select whicg model type you have created in ESR.

Send System message option used to send alert message kind of that, mostly basis people will use send message when system gOing to be down at particluar time,in this type of cases who are using the PI system they will receive it.
