Unable to see attachment attached in SRM in R/3

Hello Experts,

We are in SRM 7.0 classic scenario using DMS.

We are facing an issue as described below:-

When we are trying to open the attachment attached in SRM in backend R/3 system,we getting an error message "NO application exists".We are getting this error message when we try to open the attachment in the new backend R/3 which we connected just 2 days back.

However,we are able to open the attachment in the old backend R/3 system.

We have checked the settings in DC10 & DC30 for the new backend R/3 system and found it to be identical to old R/3 system.

We tried to open files of all the types i.e. .doc,.docx,.xls etc but we get the same error message.

Can you all experts,plz help us understand why this is happening and how this can be resolved?

Any pointers will be highly appreciated.

Pleae also goto transaction DC20, here double click on 'Define data Carrier type "server,front end"'. comapre the

settings here. Besides, check note 564954 , 1177348.

Here is one example for one of our customer's settings, please refer to and adjust accordingly.

"1.Goto Transaction DC30-> Here you should have a entry by Appl-'DOC' for

word documents, with the Description Winword.

At your system you have a entry 'WRD' for Winword.Please replace the

APPL 'WRD' with 'DOC'.

Please maintain entries in "define workstation application in network"

for workstation application 'DOC" with the following entries.

Data carr.type : PC

Application type : 1/2

path with prog.name : %AUTO%

2.Goto transaction DC20, here double click on 'Define data Carrier type

"server,front end"'.

Here make sure that there exist an entry "PC" with the path "C:\temp".

After doing these changes please check if the problem still persists.

Please create a new shopping cart and check the scenario. "

Hi,

Please check whether the attachment exist in SRM in the table: BBP_PDATT

1. Go to T.code: RZ 20 and check the shopping cart whether errors are there.

Hi Ganesh,

Thank you for your response.

We can see that document exists in the table in BBP_PDATT and also we checked RZ20 and we find no error log for the SHC.

We can also see the attachment in backend R/3 system but we try to open it we are getting an error message

"Select an original application file first"

Can you plz provide some more advise on why this is happening and how can we resolve this issue?

What kind of attachment is this happening with ? Adobe, Word ?
