Does GTS require the creation of virtual plants in SAP?

Experts,

Does GTS Require the creation of virtual plants in SAP in order for a FTO to be able to clear customs in more than one country?

Is there any way to configure GTS to match the actual flow of goods (i.e. report clearance in one country in route to another) without creating multiple virtual plants?

thanks for any help on this.

No,

Virtual Plants is mainly used in order to book sock transfers to Intrastat and VAT calcluation. There is no connection to GTS.

Thanks for your reply. One follow up-

If a Purchase Order receipt is in to a customs warehouse, what is the best way to move the goods in bond to another location, say one country to another? One issue is that a STO will loose the original PO info, unless there is some kind of linkage. And GTS does not support CWH to CWH movements. (not quite sure why)

Is there a way to reference in the customs declaration that clears the STO from the Customs Warehouse the original PO that brought the goods into the country? thanks for any help in this.

Hello,

GTS tracks all the movements, even the internal ones, but there is some setup to do.

P.S. when you receive an answer taht helps you, you are supposed to rate it...

That is true, there is a lot of setup to do. You need to define an document type for the internal movements and to create an activity sequence to track it.
