SRM Attachment are saved with size 0

Dear Gurus,

In SRM7 production environment several users are facing an issue with the attachment.

I have monitored the process and traced it but i have not found any error.

They just upload the attachment, and save it.

All seems ok, but when they open the SC again, the attachment show a 0 size and they are not able to open them.

We have tried to reproduce the case in DEV and Release, but it seesm almost a random error, most of the time all work fine.

I have found Note 1309729 - Unable to display attachments in SRM contracts.

Could you please confirm me this note apply to this case or suggest me other solutions?

Hi

the mentioned note is not applicable for you.

create OSS message to SAP with step by step procedure and reproduce the same error . They wil definetly help you.

but you must install J2E (Java run time environment) in your machine.

Hi Johan,

I think SAP is currently updating this note, as it was a pilot note. We had to implement it twice to solve the issue.

You should wait the note will be released or contact with SAP opening an OSS message reporting the issue and mentioning this note.

Note 1454783:

As indicated in the note the system behavior after implementing this note will be the following:

1. In case if the server is down, attachments will not be saved in

SRM DB table. I.e. you will not see the description of it in the

document.

2. Error message will be written to Application Monitor.

Since all attachments are added to KPRO only when the document is saved,i.e. in update task, it is impossible to inform the user immediately.

Adding attachments to the content server in SRM can be compared with

the document transfer to the backend by means of RFC call.

In other words, this note is the only possible solution to this issue.

User will be advised in case the attachment is nt working before saving avoiding the reported attached issue.

I hpe it helps.

Hi Valentino,

Thanks for your reply.

Could you please send the config settings that are required

To save the SRM attahments directly in the content server, because i have an issue with that today.

Via trx OAC0 i defined the repository and using trx OACT i created an storage category.

Where do i link this storage cat to the SRM attachments?

Thanks in advance
