STMS After System Copy

Dear All,

I did the System Refresh (backup / restore method) on AIX Unix /oracle - SAP 4.7.

before restore I've took the backup of Datafiles and cofiles folder.Now i am doing post refresh steps ..I have to configure STMS as well..Please suggest if I copy the old data files and co files will in the same directory then WILL abapers get there work back ?

What is lost? If you have overwritten your DEV system, and you are missing the version history then the answer is no. This information was only stored in the database of the DEV system...

yes and no.

SAP mainly relies on transport information from inside database tables. these are linked to /usr/sap/trans

so, you need to update them both to make sure everything is in sync.

If you have made the pecse list of the trs before system copy the you can import it

the transport files do not have really anything to do with what is inside the database.

You may get selected versions back by importing the transports to the restored system,

which make sense only if they have NOT been imported to production before.

If they had been imported, the are already in the database.

Everything that had been open in unreleased transports in DEV is lost when you overwrite it with PRD
