serial number profiles differ while doing PGI

Hi All,

When trying to do a PGI for a STO I'm getting an error as "Serial number profiles differ". Can you please let me know what can be the reason for this error and how to correct this?

Hi Ashwin,

Please review the following extract from SAP Note 53229:

"You want to carry out a transfer posting for materials with serial no. management. However, the serial number profiles of the receiving and issuing points are not identical".

The error E174 is actually hardcoded in program MM07MFU0_UMLAGERMAT_PRUEFEN. You therefore have 2 options :

1) Have the same serial no. profile in both plants.

2) solution stated in note 53229.

I think the serial number profile of the material (in material master) in the supplying and receiving plants is different.
