large small quantities putaway strategy

Hi all,

For some good receipts from production into a SU managed WM warehouse we'd like to have a dedicated area (storage type) with physical bins that are like half of normal bins (let's say that a different Storage bin type is defined).

When we receive materials/SUs that have a predefined quantity for each material and SUT that form like an half pallet we would like to direct those SUs into that storage type.

So the criteria should be depending on the quantity contained in the pallet for each material. The Storage unit type is always the same (europallet) but the height varies.

It sounds like a putaway strategy like the large/small quantity for picking is needed.

What is the putaway strategy or the best way you suggest for this?

Define a second storage unit type(sut) for the half size pallets and define storage bin type(sbt) search in configuration.

Define that half size sut fits in sbt.

thanks for the answer but unfortunately, as in my previous post, SUT is always the same and it's not known from production people who create TOs. It is the SU's height that varies and could be stored in that st.type.

You were both right the missing thing was that SUT determination were automatically performed via palletization data in Material master WM views that I wronlgy remembered was manually chosen in TO creation.

If you maintain it in the Material Master, SUT should be determined automatically during TO creation based on the quantity.

Hi ,

It looks like creating another SUT for half the quantity is a possible solution. Otherwise, you may have to go for an enhancement for your own putaway strategy. Large/Small Quantities is standard for picking and unfortunately not available for Putaway.
