Function keys not working on MC9090 Rf Hardware gun

Hi all,

I have developed an ITS mobile service and made the necessary settings. Touch screen functionality are working fine but

function keys are not working. The hard ware device mode is Motorola MC9090.

It woud be appriaciated if any one provide the steps/ process for mapping the function keys.

Hi Vani,

check weather you are using the Pocket Internet Explorer

or an industry browser like the Symbol Pocket Browser.

Only if you are using an industry browser will you be able to

map any keys using the meta tags in the deviceinclude file.

This is not a limitation of ITS but a limitation of the Pocket Internet

Explorer which cannot map any keys at all.

Hi Vani,

(First - I tryed adding "" examples but the SDN does not allow me to post)??

If you look at the documentation of the Symbol Pocket Browser add

a javascript alert line to the head area of an HTML page and open it with

your device then press the enter key.

Now you should get a pop-up windows containing the Key Value of the enter

key.

You then enter into your deviceinclude file the number you just recieved in the popup into it.

I am facing the same problem. Not able to use F1 to F10 keys on MC9090 device.

Hello Arun,

For the mobile device function keys to work your browser needs to support META key tags. It is actually more important to check the documentation of the browser you are utilizing.
