Dear gurus,

I changed the IP address on my SAP servers from old to new.

After changing the IP, I checked the connections from tx:sm59.

I modifications was done to the host name so IP can be resolved.

once i sign on to the SAP portal, i can log in. but if i try perform any function, i get the error "navigation to web page cancelled"

The cause of the error is that "the portal is calling the old IP address from somewhere"

any help?

regards,

Tolu

When you change the IP address on tx:sm59 also change the IP address on the ITS server on the portal end.

Hi,

Have you tried to create the RFC by hostname and not ip?

Change the IP in the DNS server, then you have a ping to hostname with parameter -a ping -a <hostname>, it should appear the new IP.

If not works you can check:

1. Table RFCDES

2. Transaction SM55 only if you using a IP here

3. transaction SMLG the entries for the server groups have been created with IP addresses

4. Transaction SM51, check the hostname

Hi,

Goto tcode SMICM --> services and check what hostname shows there.

If it shows the correct hostname , try to ping the hostname and check whether you get the reply with correct ip address.

Also try to ping the hostname from your desktop and check what ip address you get in reply.

Thanks

Hi,

Kindly check the host file entry whether it is having the old IP or new IP against the hostname of the server.

Thanks & Regards,

I see the host name of the server here.

Is it possible the iview was hard coded with the IP address

Hi,

Try to check the settings/properties of iViews...might be the IP address is maintained instead of host name.

Hello Tolu,

Try reseting the "Hostname buffer" from SM51 -> Goto -> Host Name Buffer -> Reset -> Entire System.

Please, let my know how it goes.

Best regards,

Rafael
