linking problem after migration to ECC6

Former Member

hello all

I have the following problem: we migrated from 4.6C to ECC6

in 4.6C we could link documents that pointed to a storage category, with a path pointing to a folder and not a specific file.

we seemed to have lost this feature after migrating.

can you help me find where the problem might be?

thank you

Alisa

Hi Alisa,

could you please provide more details where this path was maintained in 46c and what is the difference there now.

Best regards,

storage category was pointing to a path on a server and the "original" to be uploaded was pointing to a folder in the path.

it was defined in mount points/logical drives

it worked in 46c.....

Hi Alisa,

maybe SAP note 1319207 could be useful for you.

no not really.

I will try to explain the problem better:

the data carrier is pointing to a path: for example, data carrier = alisa-test and alisa-test is defined as w:\GRP_industry\Technical drawings\

the original, instead of being a single file, points to a folder that is on a lower level of the data carrier.

for example: original file name will be \SAP\MATERIALS MANAGEMENT\

in materials management there are all kind of files .

I had plenty of DIR defined like this and now i cannot open them.......

what i noticed is that in 4.6C, when opening a document, you saw in the window of the originals the application, storage category, security area and indicator markup. ECC6 has ALSO the filename......

aside from that, I have not noticed anything else different.

where is the difference?

File W:\BEBF\FAOL\$DATA\GRP-CONSULT\WWW could not be accessed

but if i try to access it normally (not via dms) i have authorization and, the same path, works weel in 4.6C
