charm_support patch level_mismatch

Dear All,

I came know that we need to maintain same patch level across all the satellite systems which belongs to same landscape. Here we have patch level 18 for Dev & 14 for QA & PRD. When we asked our Basis person to upgrade the patch level to 18 even in QA & PRD, he is asking for any supporting doc like SAP Note which can say its necessary to maintain the same patch level across all the systems. Can any one suggest me the sap note which says to maintain the same patch level.

Totally unacceptable scenario, Its not a consistent environement if you have a dev system(any system in TMS for that matter) which is of lower (Different) SP altogether.

Take a scenario,

Enduser is requesting for a change in a report/transaction (Can be an enhancement). The version of the objected object in Production may vary from the one in Development. So development relating to that object and successful deployment is not possible.

this holds good for any change that you make (SAPNOTE, Enhancements, Developments etc)
