Hello All
Can any one clear my confusuon?
ECC and Target/source application is able to publish and consume web service..Then what is the role of SAP PI? Is it needed?
What is the right opproach, is to use SAP PI or not?

Hi Rajeev ,
If source and target system can use web services and exchange the data then Middleware like PI may not be required.
But for few scenarios involving the web service also we need the services interfaces in ESR(PI) to generate the Proxies for standard services.So in such scenarios and also if the customer required specific data mapping and formats then i think PI can play a significant role in the web service's scenarios also.

Hi Rajeev,
PI not required in this case,if your both systems (Sender and Receiver) supprting web service calls you can integrate the systems without middleware.(SAP PI).
