Hi, In operations view of inspection plan, work center field is there. while performing 01 results recording we will be recording the mic results only. pls advise where this work center related data will be required in inspection which is mentioned in qp01 screens.
Work center is used when you want to capture the data releted to the cost or man hrs or m/c hrs in awork center.this more useful in the routings where you want to capture the data related to work center.

Hi,
The workcenter field is useful in the Qplan when you are going to capture the time inoccured or spend by the worker or the machine in the case of mannual or machine used for the inspection respectively .
so the time will be costed with ref to the cost center which is assigned in the workcenter -costing view.
if you donot have any plan to capture the time / cost for the inspection , you can skip this workcenter.

Hi,
If somebody wants to monitor 'cost of Quality' then using work center one can capture the cost related to quality. There are two main costs, Appraisal cost and non conformity cost, so by using activity type you can define time required for each inspection and there by can calculate the appraisal cost. Similarly non conformities like complaints / rejections can also be considered as quality cost.
So to capture all this you need to have a work center, you should have separate work center for Quality.
Best Regards.

Also, I find one of the most valuable things to use work centers for is security. You can define a work center and then give users access to the work centers. Users can only record results against operations that they have security for, i.e. the work center. This can be handy where maybe you have plant operators doing some testing and a control laboratory doing the remaining testing. Using two operations, you can keep the plant operators from recording/changing results in the operation set set up for the control lab and the lab technicians.
