Hi All,
I have exported an repository object and am trying to import the same in another system. After doing the import it says the "Successfully Imported" but I dont find that object anywhere.
Kindly let me know the process of importing the objects in XI.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Ankur
Ankur,
I have noticed that this problem can occur if you manually created the SWCV in the target system, instead of importing it from the source system.
In that case, the SWCV in the target system has a different Object ID than the one in the source system. Even though they may have the same name and version, XI will consider them separate SWCV's.
Try importing your software component again in the Integration Builder (Tools -> Transfer from SLD -> Import SWCVs).
You might now see two SWCV's under your SW Component, with the same name and version, but different IDs.
Basically if you plan to migrate between two systems, only create the SWCV in the source system and import it in the target to make sure the two systems have the same object ID for your SWCV.

Koen

Hi Ankur,
when you import repository object you don't have to
activate it. Only if you transport directory objects.
When your import is successfully but you can't see those
objects first check is to look to the cache replication.
Stay im Tool repository and go to menu Environment->Cache
Notification... There you will see the cache activation.
Look if you can see a line with this text "Software
Component Import to Repository" and if this line
correspond to the time you have transported your
repository objects. Check if the status is read or green.
If red you have to further check why. If you can't see
nothing then you will have problem with jms provider which
is responsible for activation the change. If so look to

Hi Ankur,
this is strange! Normally if the activation is green the
object should be there and you don't have to do anything
else.
Try to check IB Tool start page and click the link
Administration. Then go the Tab Repository and click
on 'Cache Overview'. Try to do the cache refresh manually.
If this is not working the raise an oss message at sap.

Ankur,
Just go to the change lists and activate the change list as a whole and you will be able to see the objects.

Bhavesh
