How do you determine and deactivate enhanced sapstartsrv functionality?
According to OSS note 1156186 page 4. Add info. Upgrade to SAP NW 7.0 it is stated to deactivate enhanced sapstartsrv functions otherwise you would experience problems when exchnaging the SAP Kernel for info 995116.
This is for a Unix AIX platform.
Please assist.
Thanks
Hello Tarik,
sapstartsrv is a Unix "daemon", similar to a Windows Service, which is typically started when the system (operating system) is
started and is only stopped when the operating system is stopped. When exchanging the kernel we should STOP it to avoid
errors; in fact, exchanging the kernel can exchange also the sapstartsrv executables.
Please refer to SAP note 936273 and the referenced SAP documentation for more information about sapstartsrv.
I hope this clarifies the issue for you and if so please let me know by confirming this message and providing some valuable feedback.
Regards,
Rafael
