GRC Server Restoration

Hi Experts,

Please guide me on what is the best practice to do a restore of a crashed GRC Server.

We have backup files-

Offline + Redo log files - happening daily

Full file system of usr/sap/SID* and oracle/SID/* on weekly basis. Our OS is Windows server 2003 and DB Oracle 10.2.

If we use a new windows server, what configurations and steps are required to restore the GRC and make ir functioning in short time. Also, if the new server has already Oracle installed and one SAP instance, then what pre-cautions are required.

Appreciate your help and thanks in advance..

Regards,

Sabita

Hi,

If you are restoring it for same system i.e. host name, machine and system SID etc. is same then you can do it via restoring the file system and then restore the database, make sure that file system backup and database backup of same time stamp.

If SID or host is getting changed then system copy is the option because for java most of the system settings resides in file system only.

Thanks
