RFC issue

Former Member

Hello,

We are trying to connect ECC to APO system. When we test the RFC connection this error appears:

LOGON: Connection erro

Error when opening a RFC connection

Location: SAP GATEWAY

We already did all the steps needed to connect system. The connection from APO to ECC works fine, I mean, the RFC test is OK, but other way around, ECC to APO, we have the issue.

What could be the problem?

Thank you in advanced.

David

Hi David,

I hope you are checking RFC connection in T code SM59 from ECC to APO and your system number , IP address are correct.

Thanks,

Thanks Pavan,

Yes the IP address is ok, and yes we are checking RFC type 3 in T code sm59, but the issue remains.

Could it be a firewall?

Thank you guys for your help.

Check Business system group is maintained and assigned to the right source and destination. At least one BSG is must.

Thanks Loknath,

We checked the systems business group in APO, and apparently everything looks OK.we have assigned both the ECC and APO to this business group.

Any more ideas about what could be the issue? Do you guys have seen firewall issuers related to this?

Thanks,

David

Hi David,

Try SAP note 886103 whether applicable to you

Problem solved! It was a firewall and the IP Address had to release in order to be able to connect.

Thanks you all!

Hi David,

1) Check whether logical system is defined

2) Logical system is assigned to client

3) RFC connection is fully established

4) Check the livecache settings whether connectivity

is proper

5) Try creating integration model for a location and

check the data transfer flow

Thank Senthil for the answer.

1) Check whether logical system is defined OK

2) Logical system is assigned to client OK

3) RFC connection is fully established (This the step that is giving us the issue, test is giving errors, "error when opening an RFC connection

4) Check the livecache settings whether connectivity OK

is proper

5) Try creating integration model for a location and

check the data transfer flow (We cannot send any data to APO system, same error ""error when opening an RFC connection"

I appreciate your help with this issue.
