Dear All,
We are facing problem because of log files getting generated in GRC e.g.spool files for background jobs, SAP Adapter logs, alert logs, attachment attached with user requests, security audit logs etc.. As a result everyday growth of /usr/sap/EGT is around 1-2 GB. I changed log files generation to Error level. Still situation is same. Even if we run some reports, then daily 3-4 default trace files being getting generate each of size 10 MB. As a result file system getting filled up very frequently.
Please suggest.
Thanks
Sunny
Hi Sunny,
did you check SapNote 1423983. We had an Issue with creating 1000+ spools while changing 1 user. This resolved our problem.

Hi,
I think this note is not applicable in my case since I am on GRC SP 11 but this note if for GRC SP 10.
Also, in my case for one job only single spool file is getting generated. My concern is there any way that I can archive these files or any SAP standard note which says that when to delete these files.
Also, If I am checking my my background job reports getting generated in server0 folder. Is there any setting that I can define where to generate background job reports ? Also, this case I am only discussing for background job reports that generates at OS level not spool files (spool files getting generate at required position only)
Thanks
Sunny
Sunny,
We are on 5.3 SP10 and we don't face this issue. Did you try contacting SAP?
You can provide location for background job and spool files by going to configuration -> miscellaneous and putting values for Background Job Spool File Location and Action Usage File Location. We also have 2 server nodes so we have identified a separate file storage server to store these files.

Alpesh
Dear Alpesh,
As I said before, my spool file getting generated at right location (means at the location which i specified in spool location parameter in Miscellaneous settings) but the problem is with reports zip file getting generated in server0 directory. Thats what I want to have at specific location.
I already raised OSS with SAP but waiting for their response.
Thanks
Sunny
