Unable to add a field to a segment in an existing IDoc

Hi people,

I am trying to add a new field to an existing IDoc segment (Z1BP_INCINV_CREATE_HEADER ) using the transaction we31, But it is not successful. I get an error message ' the segment cannot be changed'. It is Not a standard IDoc. i am able to add fields to the other segments. Can anyone suggest?

Hi Shweta,

First you have to cancel the release (In we31) before you make any changes:

i tried cancelling the release. but still unsuccessful, 'error while restting the release of the segment'.

Hi Shweta,

You can try cancelling the release of the Basic type/ extension in we30 first.

Then you can cancel the release of the Segment.

Hi,

I Could not cancel the release,t as the error being, the "Segment type and IDoc is flagged as generated (PI_generated=X)".

Can anyone suggest what could be the possible reason for the flag getting generated and how to change it in order to add new fields to the segment? Please note that it is not a standard one.
