Short dump F4 search for cost centers&G/L account-OSS 656633 implemented

Hello experts,

We are in SRM 7.0 classic scenario

We have implemented the OSS note 656633 for enabling F4 search help for cost centers,orders and G/L account in the ERP system via F4 help out of SRM web user interface.

However,when we try for F4 search help we are getting a short dump.

Also,we are facing this problem for the only new backend system which is getting connected to SRM system and F4 help is working fine for the old connected backend system.

Any pointers to this solve this problem will be highly appreciated

Hi there,

If you wish to use the accounting search help then it is necessary to define a second RFC

destination value in the field 'RFC destination' in SPRO

->SRM

->SRM Server

->Technical Basic Settings

->Define Backend Systems

This field can be seen if you scroll across to the right of the screen.

In order to use the F4 accounting search help in the backend the RFC

user for this backend must be either a 'dialog' or 'service' user. Due

to security concerns, note 656633 was implemented to overcome the

issue with having a 'dialog' user. This note should be in place in your

system, however, if you require the F4 accounting search help you must

also define this second RFC destination for the backend.

Therefore you keep the 'normal' RFC user and also have another RFC

connection with a 'dialog' or 'service' user. This 'second' RFC

destination is then called by the function module B40B_SHLP_CALL

(for the accounting search help).

Some customers don't want to set a dialog user for all backend

communication. Then, you define explicitely in BBP_BACKEND_DEST

(transaction SM30) in field 'RFC-Destination (dial.)' (scroll to last

field) and SM59 an own dialog user only for backend search help.

Then, this dialog user is used only for backend search helps.

See notes (642202, 656633).

Also check whether the user has the correct authorization

Please make sure the user has the authorization for search helps.

In Transaction PFCG the role SAP_EC_BBP_PURCHASER>select tab

authorizations>click on the glasses(Display/maintain authorizations)

and check "bbp component"> "authorizations for search helps" is active.

Hope this helps,

Kind Regards,

Matthew
