Check whether you have opened the protocol 50000. Also if you use proxy server try disabling it

You should use fdqn only for portal. If you IP you will come accross many problem like content would not be diaplyed properlyand all. However you can use the fqdn even if you use internet , also configure webdispatcher to perform load balancing and also for security purpose.
even logon using the IP Address but it won't work properly.

Hi Trisha,
If you are accessing EP7 portal through IP, You need to check whether you are able to ping from your desktop or not.
Using IP address, some of the function will not work properly. If you are able to ping from your desktop, then you need to
update your host file (Server IP address and host name(FQDN) in host file entry at (Start > RUN > drivers > etc > host file))
Then you can access with FQDN
Hope it helps

The usage of FQDN is a must when dealing with JAVA AS for a multiple number of reasons that are well documented.
Please do some research before posting and read the "Rules of Engagement"

Hi,
It is always suggested to access portal via FQDN rather than ip address.
Check whether ports are open for your desktop or not.
Thanks
Anil
