Problems with STO process with handling unit

Hey,

We are using stock transport orders (STO) between two plants.

The delivering plant/storage location is HUM managed, but the receiving plant/storage location is not HUM managed.

We are using output type SPED on the outbound delivery for automatic generating the inbound delivery on the receiving plant.

The delivery type EL and item category ELN is standard determined in the inbound delivery. The item category ELN is not putaway relevant. I therefore created ZELN which are putaway relevant and generated the inbound delivery one more time.

I can then post goods receipt, but the material document is not generated. Why is this?

We need to do the goods receipt for the inbound delivery for updating the status of the handling units to "In warehouse" at the storage location which is not HUM managed. This because we are going to scan the handling units on the customer deliveries out from the warehouse.

Can SAP manage this scenarioe? Any tips on how to configure this?

Best regards,

Terje

There is a check on item category to post GR only after putaway. It in SPRO -> Logistics - General -> Handling Unit Management -> Basics -> Delivery -> Define Sequence of Transfer Order - Goods Receipt. You might want to check the setting here for new item category.

If you receive HU into a non-HU Sloc, the identity of that HU is lost. In case you want to scan HU in your outbound process, you should think of making the Sloc of receiving plant HU managed and store inventory in Handling units.

Thanks
