Hello All,
I want to create a file with unique name. So, I selected file construction mode as "AddMessageID".
Is my file going to be duplicated after several years or not?Any chance of reoccuring the same messageID?
Regards,
Moorthy
Hi Dasika,
Message ID are always unique. If same message id is appeared in system then xi system will give error that the particular message id is already present into the system.
And if you have any doubt about message id then you can use date time stamp for uniqueness of file.

Its a 32 digit code with each digit being a hexadecimal digit.
So there are 16 possibilities for each digit. So there are 16 raised to the power of 32 possibilities (approximately equal to 3 followed by 38 zeroes).
So, even if you produce a file per second, you would require approximately 10000000000000000000000000000000 years to repeat.
But any good OS practice is to archive the files even 3 or four months. So you are safe.

Ravi
