Hi everyone,
I have registered the ccmsping agent in the CEN (solman 7.0 EHP 1).
I am planning to monitor the availability of a ECC system.
I went to RZ21>TECHNICAL INFRASTRUCURE>AVAILABILITY MONITORING-->CONFIGURE CCMS PING AVAIALABILITY MONITORING.
Since the samsg.ini file is not available, i added the system manually.
In that i provided the following details for a new ECC (sid :E6C) system:
hostname: abcd00e
IP service name: sapmsE6C
selected monitor all application servers and also selected ping monitoring and check logon .
I created an rfc and clicked Copy connection Data and Options.
Now when i click the E6C system, it says:
Neither instance nor logon groups found System:E6C
Please help me solve the problem.
Thanks
Nanda kumar
HI Nanda,
After registering the ccmsping (using the -push option) against the CEN you should restart the CEN itself (or reset the monitoring segment into warmup status) so the CEN recognizes the ccmsping as a pushing agent.

ccmsping u2013R u2013push u2013n01 pf= /usr/sap/SID/SYS/profile/SID_DVEBMGSNN_hostname
This will install the ccmsping agent against ccmsping instance 01 and associate it to SAP instance.
Itu2019s the pf=profile_parameter that is missing from some on the documentation.

Hi,
A colleague of mine(Gary Mason) solved the issue.
His explanation is ths :
The documentation states running the command:
ccmsping u2013R u2013push u2013n01
This will install the ccmsping agent against ccmsping instance 01 but will not associate it to an SAP instance. Therefore when you attempt to view it in RZ20, it is unable to see an active instance.
I ran the following command:
ccmsping u2013R u2013push u2013n01 pf= /usr/sap/SID/SYS/profile/SID_DVEBMGSNN_hostname
This will install the ccmsping agent against ccmsping instance 01 and associate it to SAP instance.
Itu2019s the pf=profile_parameter that is missing from some on the documentation.

Hi Nanda,
Go to RZ21 -> Techinal inf-> Config Central System -> Maintain System Group
Plz check whether your system present in any Group list. if not add it.
During Agent installtion atlast it ask Group name which it get map.
After adding th system goto TECHNICAL INFRASTRUCURE>AVAILABILITY MONITORING>CONFIGURE CCMS PING AVAIALABILITY MONITORING.
Type correct detials like
Message Server Host Name : <xxx.
IP Service Name sapms<sid>
kindly check solman system and statellite system entires in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc { host and services}.
kindly revert back if u have any issue.

Hi Nanda,
I also faced the same issue while configuring CCMSPING .But after few minutes it was successful . Make sure you followed the steps http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/79/498e3bae1d9e7ae10000000a114084/content.htm for installing CCMSPING . And cofiguring , refer http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/38/9e3337d7840ffee10000009b3810a5/content.htm .
Make sure the service CCMSPING runs fine in sattellite system.

Hi Nibu,
Thanks for the reply.
I installed in CCMSPING agent in the central system (solman) and also in the satellite system, with push option.
Now i registered the agent in both the systems with giving the information of the solman system.
Is this correct?
I restarted both the systems and the service CCMSPING is running.
Now i am able to see the ECC system in RZ20>availability & performance overview>availability.
But it is white in color, no data is collected.
And also the node CCMSPING/configuration error shows "Communication error when attempting to call CCMSPING; see CCMS_SelfMonitoring".
When i goto RZ21-->Technical Infrastructure >Availability monitoring>Configure CCMSPING availability and click the ECC system, it says Neither instance nor logon groups found System.
Where am i doing wrong?
Please guide me.
Hello,
I had recently a problem with CCMSPING and it came from its Collect method.
Go to RZ21 and display the method used by the CCMSPING (I am sorry, i cannot remember its name, but you should be able to find it in your system logs), check in the Release tab that the method is released as a Collect method.
If not, dot it and it should solve your problem.
Best regards,
Benjamin
Hi Paul and Nibu,
Thanks for ur reply guys.
I restarted the CEN as u mentioned.
As the SDN forum thread, u posted, i started the "CMS_CENSYS_DISPATCHER" job also.
But still no luck. Wat am i doing wrong?
I have one more doubt.
I registered the CCMSPING.exe in CEN, is it right?
Or do i have to register CCMSPING.exe in satellite systm also?
Please clear my doubt.
Thanks
Nanda

Hello Nanda,
Have you restarted the instance after you installed CCMS-PING?
After registering the CCMS Agent it is necessary to restart the instance, so the startup method for availability monitoring is able
to determine if there is an agent running registered with -push option or not, because in this case otehr function modules will need to be used.
I hope this information is helpful.

Paul
