Hello to Everyone, <br>

I have been working really hard to install a .sca package via JSPM. Unfortunately, every time I start the go.bat file on my windows system and try to log in to the SDM account. I receive this error about the server not accepting my log in request. I really need some help from you gurus. <br>

What I have tried:<br>

SMD is up and running

Edited the host file according to note 783965

Tried to recover the SDM password by setting the instance to standalone and then change password and then back to integrated. <br>

Below are a couple log files as well as the

Hi,

Please check if the port 50018 is enabled in your network. Take the help of your network guys for the same. Also, check for if any firewall is enabled. If it is then disable the same.

Thanks & Regards,

Sharath

Hello-

Are you logged on as SIDADM/SUPER user to launch the jspm on the server?

Please try this one more time and see ......

For Windows OS:

Open a command prompt and navigate to the folder <Drive>:\usr\sap\DP1\JC21\SDM\program

Execute the below commands:

sdm jstartup "mode=standalone"

sdm changepassword "newpassword=<Enterthenewpassword>"

sdm jstartup "mode=integrated"

StartServer.bat

Post processing (for Unix or Windows):

You must change the password in the config tool. If you forget that step, you will not be able to deploy using SDM. SAP note 701654 explains the process:

Use the Config Tool to change the entry in secure storage as follows:

(Execute <SAPj2eeEngine_install_dir> \configtool\configtool.bat.)

secure store

The configuration for the secure storage in the file system appears.

admin/password/<SID> (enter the password for J2EE_ADM_[SID], not the SDM password)

Note: Contrary to the message that appears, you do not need to restart the server or cluster for this change to take effect.

after this try to logon to SDM first and see if its accepting your password if yes then logout and launch the JSPM or you can even try to deploy the file from SDM may take more time....if all these not work post the sdm log file.

Thanks,

George Rayi

George,

I have logged into the Remote Desktop of the ECCDEV1 box as <sid>adm.<br>

I then proceed to <Drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\DVEBMGSXX\SDM\program <br>

Ran, <br>

sdm jstartup "mode=standalone"<br>

sdm changepassword "newpassword=<Enterthenewpassword>"<br>

sdm jstartup "mode=integrated"<br>

However when i entered the StartServer.bat command SMD server tried to start for 600 Seconds and then gave up with:Could <br>not Start SDM. Processing Error. Return Code 4.<br>

I was successful in setting the password for the Configtool (however it is useless if SDM is not running) <br>

Java Package installed <br>

j2sdk1.4.2_18-x64<br>

j2sdk1.4.2_23-x64<br>

Mentions going down to j2sdk1.4.2_17-x64 Worth it ? ? ? ? <br>

Also tried :<br>

sdm jstartup u201Cmode=standaloneu201D<br>

sdm registerjstartup sdmhome=<...> jstartupdir=<...> mshost=<...> msport=<...><br>

sdm jstartup "mode=integrated"<br>

Did not work. <br>

Thanks for the response George! <br>

Anyone with more ideas? ? ? <br>

sharath Babu - a telnet of this server:50018 returns could not open connection to the host ... I am unsure of how to enable this port do i just add an exception on my windows server ? Also Windows Firewall has been turned off for the time being. So it should be accepting from all ports

Anil Bhandary - I tried to connect via the go -remoteui and i was unable to. Could Not establish connection was the error.

It seems that my JSPM is not running however in the SAP Management Console is green. How can i verify this ?

thanks for you responses.

Hi,

Try to add the port 50018 to the exceptions in the windows server and then try. Though you disable the firewall might be it is blocked in your LAN by your network team. Please take their help and try if still you are getting the same error could not establish the connection.

SAP responded and i found out that my SAP system had incorrect profile parameters for the java Configuration. For those with this problem please check this note. 741289 if this does not solve your problem then you will have to make a connection with the Visual Administrator which may require SAP Support.

thanks

Hi,

every time I start the go.bat file on my windows system and try to log in to the SDM account

Are you trying to call JSMP remotely from you desktop.

If yes , then follow the below process , it is much eaiser.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/EN/87/4797422930c56ae10000000a155106/content.htm

Starting JSPM with Remote UI
Start JSPM with this command line:

go u2013remoteui

Wait for this message to appear on the console:

Waiting for SDTServer to connect ...

Open a web browser on another host with Java runtime installed. Browse to this address:

http://<host>:5<xx>19

<host> is the host on which you have started JSPM and <xx> is the number of the instance from which you have started JSPM.

On the web page choose the link Start JSPM Frontend (SDTGui). JSPM GUI will be downloaded and started locally by Java Web Start technology. Then you can proceed as starting on any other operating system. Just keep in mind that JSPM actually runs on the remote host.

For more information, see SAP Note 1013976.

Thanks

Anil
