Hello SAP experts,
I am planning on doing a system copy from a server (developement server to a demo server).
However, I already have a demo server with IDES stuff on it (ECC 6,0).
The requirement is that we want to keep the IDES stuff but add this system copy data from another server.
Is it possible at all?
Or, do I have to just install SAP ECC6.0 again on the demo server using the export data from systemcopy?
Your feedback or suggestions will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Ram

No, this is not possible. A system copy is a system copy... you'll loose all the data currently sitting on the system.
You can always bulid a new system for your demo or take a full offline backup of your IDES system and restore after the demo (assuming that the IDES is not business critical)

In very simple terms what you want to achieve is not possible using system copy
However if I am not correct TDMS can come to your rescue. It allows you to do selective copying of data.
I have not worked on TDMS but my understanding of it is that it should allow you a leeway. It allows you to copy for instance data for specific org. units only.
