mount points for all the oracle director

Dear Friends

I am installing Solution Manager on Linux. ......Is it import to create separate mount points for all the oracle and sap directories before installation. or create just main directores like oracle and sapmnt. rest will be created by sapinstallation.

Any feedback would be welcome

yes, you need to create mount points yourself. If you do not do this, SAPINST will create directories in existing file systems and you may not want this.

hello Eric

Thanks for your reply. yes it is mention in note 1048303 to create directories manually. My company still want to go ahead with approach where sapinst create directories. What are the downpoints of this approach.

look,

if you do not create mount points yourself, everything will be create on your ROOT file system. Do you really want that?

SAPINST will not create mount points, it merely creates directories if they do not exist.
