Add a custom field to maintain additional information with the user profile

Dear experts,

we are using CUA client to provision access to users in many child systems. Now we have this requirement to ensure that since our User Administration specialist have the privilige to create user and grant them with ultimate super user authoritires, they are not abusing their privileges and all changes/creations of user profiles are authorized.

I was thinking to enable a custom field in the user profile maintenance transaction SU01 in which we will maintain the change reuqest number (from our service desk system), so we can later extract report with changes and refer to the approved request. By ensuring that each change has valid request we ensure that CUA specialists are not doing unauthroized user tampering.

Do you have idea if such custom field is feasible to create in SU01, or do you have better ideas on how to meet this requrement (apart of CUP implementation, which is not feasible for the time being).

Hi Lliya,

I dont think it is possible to add custom tab intransaction SU01. In my organization we are maintaining the ticket no in field "Accounting Number" available in TAB "Logon Data" in transaction SU01. During mass maintenance in SU10 you also can maintain this field . We are following this practice from years and never faced any such issues that can be a reason for

worry.

Thank you Satyabrat,

that is helpfull to know. Meanwhile we did some research and I think we are going to create custom tcode for user maintenance and require service request information to be filled in a mandatory field upon embarking a session with the transaction for user maintenance (mass or single). Then we gonna report from these logs and use them to map with the sap change log for users, thus ensure that each change is authorized and has valid bussines request for it.
