Hello,
sometimes i have to delete a printer, because of various reasons.
After that, we have some problems, especially in Tx ME23N -> Print Preview.
There i get message no. ME142 "Error in OPEN_FORM for document xxx", because the printer doesn't exists any more.
In the messages (of the document) i see, that the logical destination changes to e.g. $DSRW (this is/was the short name of the deleted printer).
Now i have 2 "solutions" for this conflict:
1) Create a Dummy-Printer with this short name.
2) Create a new message with printer "local"
My question is, do you have similiar problems with the "short name" after deleting a printer?
And what are you doing after deleting a printer?
Best Regards,
Patrick

Hi,
Firstly do not know what reasons are making you to delete the printer sometimes. As per my knowledge for some Tcodes the printer name will be defaulted in customization and when that printer is deleted then you will get the error as said above. So, now what I can suggest is either create a printer which will not be deleted and maintain the same in customization so that this kind of issue will not come. Otherway is not do define any default printer in customization for that particular TCodes (if possible) and manually select the printer name at the time of seeing the preview or printing.
