Transport from ECC 6.0 to ECC 6.0 EHP4 system

Hi Guys,

System ECD(Development) is on ECC6.0 while system ECQ(Quality) is on ECC 6.0 EHP4. We want to create configuration transport request in ECD and transport them to ECQ. Will this bring some kind of error/inconsistency?

Hi,

Their is no sure way that no issues will occur as SAP always recommends to transports between system at the same release and support package level. But transporting from a system at a lower support package to a higher one should not have many issues, I would strongly discourage you from transporting from a higher release to a lower one as this frequently cuases severe issues. All I can say it that it most likely will not cuase an issue but it would still be advisable to take a backup of the target system before importing and to thooughly test the imported customisations once the import completes.

Hi Shitij,

There are a number of notes available on this topic, while we cannot guarantee that no inconsistencies will arrise, there are no known logical issues with transports between 7.00 and 7.01 based systems.
