Is it possible to integrate SAP NetWeaver Portal Security with Windows Active Directory?

Yes. There are multiple third party Integrated Windows Authentication providers in the [SAP EcoHub|http://ecohub.sdn.sap.com/irj/ecohub/solutions?query=%22integratedwindowsauthentication%22] and NetWeaver provides an integrated [SPNEGO login module|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/43/4bd58c6c5e5f34e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm].

Hi Chandrika,

Portal can always be synchronized with any directory service. Then the users data is pushed from this directory service to Portal using LDAP. So the answer is yes.

However, passwords cannot be synchronized using LDAP, so it is common to use sync for non password information of users, and then change the authentication method to use Kerberos, as described in previous posts.
