SRM 7.0 Installation

Dear consultants, please help me with some installations issues:

1. Is it PI mandatory to use MDM Catalogue?

2. If yes, is it needed a PI Consultant to make it run? Or just having the basis guys installed the PI system will be sufficient?

3. Is it possible to install the SRM Server 7.0, the PI Content Server 7.0 and the SAP MDM Server 7.11 together with the SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0 in the same machine ?

4. What is the SAP MDM GUI Clients 7.11?

Hi,

1. It depends on your scenario. If you transfer product or contract or Info record, PI is required.

2. Usually MDM consultant has PI knowledge

3. Technically possible but do not recommend for production system

4. MDM has client tools to access MDM server. MDM contents admin should have the tools in their local PC.

1. So if catalogues are just made of texts and prices there is no need to implement PI? MDM is connected just to SRM?

2. Is it mandatory to have an MDM consultant to set up the MDM/PI systems? Isn´t it available some config guides so that an SRM consultant can do it?

Hi,

1. Question is where is the data source. If it is excel from supplier, PI is not required.

2. Anyone can configure who has knowledge. SRM consultant also can handle.

Hi Masa,

Regarding question #3, do you know of any SAP documentation where this is stated (that can be installed the 3 systems in same machine PI,SRM,MDM but not for production environment). Any OSS note that explain it?

Hi,

PI, Portal and BW are not only for SRM. Those are used by many applications and usually installed in separate server.

I have not searched any notes.
