CCMS Agent registration error .....for NON-Unicode system

Hi Gurus,

I am registering sapccm4x in 640 non-unicode system . At os level the agent is getting registered and showing running . But when i am trying to grep the agent its not showing up. Also in CEN its showing stopped in RZ21.

Checked the RFC dest getting follwoing error.

Dear Dev,

You are using a Unicode Agent (SAPCCM4X) in a non-unicode system. You need to use a Non-unicode (SAPCCMSR) agent in a non-unicode system.

But as per the documentation sapccmsr is used for non-abap instances.

My systems is ABAP 640 non-unicode.

Please help me with the issue.

Dear Dev,

I checked further and for ABAP you do want SAPCCMSR.

What I wanted to say was that the CCM agents (SAPCCMSR, SAPCCM4X, SAPCM3X and CCMSPING) all

come in either Unicode or Non-Unicode versions.

You need to download the agents from the non-unicode kernel area. If you are getting Unicode Agents then you must be in the Unicode kernel area when you do your download.

I hope this explains how to get these agents in a clearer manner.

SAPCCMX4 - Provides an alternative connection route to monitor information in the shared memory of an ABAP system

SAPCCMSR - Monitors components on which there is no active SAP instance

SAPCCMSR - j2ee Has been extended in the case where the agenet is monitoring SAP Netweaver AS Java

SAPCM3X - Allows the monitoring of SAP instances with SAP Basis 3.X through CCMS monitoring architecture runtime environment

However all CCM Agents are available in Unicode and Non-Unicode.

Please be aware Non-Unicode as of Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 is out of Maintenance.

Hi,

I have a problem in registering /starting the sapccm4x and ccmsping agents in the NON-UNICODE systems.

I have downloaded the latest ccmsagents files available in the market place.(ccmagent_46-10004725.sar)

compiled at Nov 6 2009

systemid 370 (Solaris on SPARCV9 CPU)

INFO Runtime:

running on sapxxxv SunOS 5.10 Generic_138888-01 sun4u

running without profile

But i am trying to resgister the agent it get registered in SMV but does'nt start. and showing stopped in RZ21.

The RFC SAPCCM4X.SAPXXV.70 is fainling with the above error i pasted on top .

HI,

Solved the issue ...

after inserting the line u201Csuppress nwaglib u201C into the sapccmsr.ini

u201Cthe statement disables an internal library of the agent which is responsible for creating the "Network" subtree within the "Operating system" tree in rz20.

SAP deleted this library in release 7x (i.e. you will not find the mentioned Network MTE in release 7x systems any longer).u201D
