do we need to mount /usr/sap/trans to dialog instance?

Currently I'm having a central instance and a dialog instance. my /usr/sap/trans is hosted at a dedicated server. Currently I only managed to mount the /usr/sap/trans to my central instance through nfs. An attempt to mount /usr/sap/trans to the dialog instance failed because there was an issue with the nfs at dialong instance.

To my suprise I can see the STMS queue at both central instance and dialog instance. I thought I wouldn't able see the STMS queue at dialog instance since I haven't mount the /usr/sap/trans over there? So my question is do I need to mount /usr/sap/trans at dialog instance? I can't find any info on this from the installation guide.

My system setup

SAP=ECC6

OS=AIX 5.1

DB=Oracle 10g

regards,

MJ

Hi MJ,

Check the following link: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/27/44f17a26a74a8abfd202c4f5dc9a0f/content.htm

This gives an overview of the SAP directories and where and how they are located.

Kind regards,

Mark
