Configuration of Virus Scan Server for symantec

Hi Experts,

We have a SAP Portal running on AIX 64bit and symantec ScanEngine on Windows server.

I need to configure the Virus scan Server Interface for EP server.

I went though the documentation and found out that I will need a file called vssym.so for my AIX 64 bit to configurate the RFC to Scan Engine.

I downloaded VSCAN document form SAP note 782963. Also downloadled VSI adpaters on SCN .

But it dose not have adapter (vssym.so )for AIX 64 bit.

Dose anyone know where can I find it ? or any other work around is possible?

have you checked [this|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/downloads?rid=/library/uuid/d427de34-0c01-0010-baa8-d1d62e987c98] zip file. It contains prototype for Symantec but I don't see a version for AIX. There's only version for Linux or Sun. You can find more details in README.TXT.

Hi Martin,

I have checked the fzip file. It says that The VSA "vssym" can be used only for Symantec´s Scan Engine.

But cant find it anywhere for AIX 64 bit.

I guess that SAP has not implemented this interface for AIX64. Where did you get that there is an interface for your platform?

how is it possible SAP has not developed for AIX while it is available for other 3 OS.

How can they justify that? Anyways what are other options available now if SAP dose not provide it ?

Also I have raised an customer OSS message. Lets see what SAP has to say about it .
