SAP PI 7.1 Installation SUSE Linux 11 IA 64 Bit

Dear All,

We are trying to Install SAP PI 7.1 on SUSE Linux 11 IA 64 bit Machine. We are not able to find the 1.4 version JDK files. We have gone through the SAP Note - 723909. In this note we are not able to fine the Note for SUSE Linux IA 64 Bit, as there are other notes for different processors. And also we have gone through 171356. In the note no where mentions about the JDK download link. Please guide me how to proceed.

Linux IA64 uses the Sun JDK (opposed to the AMD64/x64), check

Note 716604 - Access to Sun J2SE and recommended J2SE options

But:

I wonder why you want to install the 1.4.2 version, PI 7.1 is based on SAPs own VM (different that older Netweaver versions).

Hi Markus,

During the installation it is asking for the JDK path, We have 1.6 jdk installed and this will not allowing us to proceed further. Yes markus you are right. SAP 7.1 Applications are having inbuilt JDK 5.1. Thanks for the SAP Note. Will try downloading the supported JDK and will update on this.

We have installed JDK 1.4 downloaded from SUN, but its giving segment fault error. We opened a OSS mesg.

The guy who was installing the PI7.1 he was using wrong version. Thanks for your guidance.
