Hi,
Can anyone please tell me the difference between SAP Archivelink Document types and SAP Office attachments.
I know that we can use archivelink or Kpro to connect to content server. We use Kpro to store sap office attachments.
Can anyone please clarify is there any difference between documents stored using archivelink and sap office attachments.

Hi Richa,
Documents stored in SAPoffice(electronic mail and folder system in R/3) are stored in the database. To save storage space in the database, the documents can be stored using SAP ArchiveLink.ArchiveLink is a service integrated in the SAP Web Application Server for linking archived documents and the application documents entered in the SAP system.
Hence, saving of storage space is the rationale behind storring docs using Archivelink(in external storage medium) or in SAPOffice. Trust this answers your confusion.

Hi,
SAP Office attachements are your original files means the document which you are attaching to the SAP DMS system for uploading.
And archivelink and kpro to save these files as you know.
I hope this will resolve the query.

Ravindra
