Budget exceeding problem while creating PR

Hello friends

I am not able to create PR,getting error message as budget exceeded for WBS element.

I created the Budget in period 2009,when i see the report CJ31 in period 2009 the values are displaying in period 2010 no values.

Now i creating the PR in 2010 i am getting above budget error.

Can anyone help me in this

You dont have budget for that WBSE in 2010, that is why it is not allowing to create PR...provide Budget for 2010 and then create PR.

But the budget is not utilized in 2009 and the amount should be carry forward to 2010 right.It's not happening

It will not carryforward automatically you will have to do it manually, refer Martina reply for the tcode to carryforward.

as per your description I understand that you are trying to post a PR in 2010 but no budget has been allocated for 2010.

Consider doing a budget carryforward from 2009 to 2010 (CJCO) or allocating budget directly in exercise 2010 via CJ30.

Hello

My firs level WBS element is 110444,second level WBS is 110445.But while creating PR i assigned second level WBS110445 ,

But in CJ30 i assigned the budget to first level WBS 110444.Is this is the problem while creating PR?

Kiran,

No, that is not the problem. If the WBS element has no budget assigned, but the superior WBS element does have budget, then the superior object is used as controlling object by means of availability control.

Have you ensured that there is budget allocated in 2010? Have you carried forward the budget from 2009?

Yes i carry forward the budget from 2009 to 2010 through CJCO.still while amending the PR ,getting the WBS element budget exceeded error message

Can you run report BPFCTRA0 for the affected project and year 2010?

The output of program BPFCTRA0 gives a complete explanation how the assigned value is calculated. It shows a hierarchical list of all objects which belong to a budget carrier (if you expand the list) and an overview of all postings which are included in the calculation of the active assigned value.

You should be able to compare the available budget against the assigned budget and find out the reason why the system does no allow the posting.

Ok, budget seems to be correctly allocated in 2010.

What is the exact error message you obtain while posting the PR?

The error message is refering to a different WBS than mentioned. Is it hierarchically infererior to 11044?

under the WBS 11044501 i created internal activities for that activities i attached BOM

For the project 110444 i assigned the budget in 2009,

I created PR for BOM materials in 2009 only.

Now i am trying to amendming the PR in 2010 means today .

The error message:

Item 010 WBS element 11044501 budget exceeded

Item 020 WBS element 11044501 budget exceeded

There should be a long text under error "Item 010 WBS element 11044501 budget exceeded". Can you please provide it?

Also, please try running CJBN for the project and retest.

You said before that you are trying to create PR for 2010 and then your error says buget exceed for 2009...Please take help of your PS & MM consultant.

Ahmed is right. You are trying to post the PR in 2009 not in 2010 as mentioned.

Please review your procedure.
