Hi,

I need to access Web Service navigator to check EJB web services that I deployed.

When I try to access this URL :- http://<host>:<port>/wsnavigator, I get message saying I'm not authorized to view this resource.

Can anyone tell me what role I need to assign to my id so as to access Web Service Navigator?

Thanks and regards,

Amey

Hi Jeetendra,

After assigning "super admin" role too, I am not able to view Web Service Navigator.

What is the exact role need for this?

Thanks and regards,

Hi Amey,

I am able to access with the Administrator role. I am having role for SAP_J2EE_ADMIN(Administration User for the SAP J2EE Engine), Content Admin, Everyone Role.

After hitting the URL i am getting the URL like http://server:port/wsnavigator/enterwsdl.html

Hi Deepak,

I already have Everyone, Content Admin, Super Admin role.

And I searched all 336 roles available and I could not see SAP_J2EE_ADMIN anywhere.

There are the roles I already have:-

Administrator Role

GP Administrator

Super Administration

GP Basic User

Standard User Role

GP Runtime WC

Everyone role

GP Advanced User

System Admin

GP Security Administrator

GP SAP System User

GP User

GP Expert User

GP Superuser

Content Admin

GP Business Expert

VCRole

I am really frustrated here as I am not able to test the EJB web services that i created 4 days ago.

I am yet to find out the exact role which can open WS Navigator to me.

Thanks and regards,

Amey

HI Amey,

Sorry for the confusion. Search for "WSNavigator" under the "Actions" criteria. once u find that create a new role and assign this action to the role and attach to the userid.

Hi Poojith,

Can you tell me exactly where I have to look for this "actions" you mentioned?

I went to http://<host>:<port</irj/portal --> User Administration --> Search Criteria

But here I can only see Role/User/Group.

Can you please explain how do I proceed with this?

Thanks and regards,

Amey

HI Amey,

The steps which i have mentioned is if you are using a CE 7.1 portal. I am not sure as to which portal u r using.

Hi Poojith,

I am using EP7. Its not CE.

However, I can see the list of actions when I opened dialogue to create a new role.

In the list of available actions, there isn't any action related to Web Service Navigator or WSNavigator.

Thanks and regards,

Amey

Hi Amey,

Its an UME action, try searching if anything matched the term WSN. I tried the same thing when we had this problem

Hi Poojith,

I swept through all 144 UME actions but there isn't any action regarding Web service navigator.

And search for *WSN* or *wsn* returned 0 results.

Thanks and regards,

Hi,

Pls check below procedure. This may help.

Using the Web service URL

When you open the Web services homepage, by default, the system prompts you to enter username and password. The user has to be part of the WSNavigatorRole or administratoru2019s security role.

To set a user as part of the WSNavigatorRole, proceed as follows:

a. Open the Visual Administrator.

b. On the Cluster tab of the Visual Administrator, choose Security Provider.

c. On the Runtime tab, choose Policy Configurations tab, and then choose sap.com/com.sap.engine.services.webservices.tool*wsnavigator.

d. On the Security Roles tab, choose WSNavigatorRole.

e. To switch to edit mode, choose

f. Choose Modify.

g. On the Security Roles area, choose all, and then choose Save.
