problem installing SAP Netweaver 7.01

Hi,

I'm finding difficulty installing SAP Netweaver 7.01. An error occurs every time I try to add the JRE installation directory, knowing that I've installed the required version of Java which is recommended by the installation guide (version 1.4.2).

Could you please advice

change THE SYSTEM variable JAVA_HOME to JDK 1.4.2

Hi Rizwan,

Check the default Java version on your desktop (Start >> Run >> javaws)

Then update your Enviromental Variable

Please update JAVA_HOME system enviromental variable in my computer (My computer > Priperties >> Advance >> Startup and Recovery >> Enviromental Variable >> System Variables >> Add new JAVA_HOME parameter with path for installed Java JDK)

Like : JAVA_HOME = C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.4.2_..

then try to execute the installer again and select the JDK version (Like - C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.4.2_..) when it ask not JRE

Thanks for your response, it is really helpful, but I'm afraid I'm still facing a problem finding a downloadable version of JDK 1.4.2, moreover, what ever other version i try, I get prompted by this message:

Directory "C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_05\javaws\javaws.exe" is not a valid JDK directory: execution of "undefined" finished with return code undefined.

Please try to downlaod JDK 1.4.2 from http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html

You are refering to JRE file, Once you installed JDK, you need to refer like C:\j2sdk1.4.2_19\bin or C:\j2sdk1.4.2_19

Yes, it will impact on installation, you need to deactivate it if any issues.

Thank you very much for you help, my problem has been solved after all. I had to uninstall the AVIRA antivirus and install J2SDK 1.4.2_26.

there is one more question, though it might not be of much importance. As I started installing SAP I was optionaly asked to provide a domain for SAP System, I don't remember it's something like FQDS or so, but any way I skipped it and went on with my installation. Could you please inform me should it be of any significance?.

Its FQDN(Fully Qualified Domain Name) not FQDS...

If you have not set, you can set FQDN parameter for icm/host_name_full in instance profile RZ10
