We have lot of old products in APO - dp for which master data ( of the info object ) needs to deleted.
These products dont have any CVC. When we try to delete the master data from the infoobject the system takes some 5-6 min and then i get a message that no master data deleted.
As there is no CVC so i should be able to delete these old products from DP module. This is happening after applying the hirarchy. or activate masterdata.
If i load any flat file that has incorrect data then before activating i am able to delete.
Is there any way to reverse the apply hirarchy or activate masterdata.

Hi,
The master data is not getting deleted, because it is certainly used somewhere.
When you get an error, please get to the details of the errors.
Then you will be able to take corrective action.
We too had this issue, and we started deleting a group of products , though it was a time consuling activity.
Error log checking is important.
I hope this gives you insight.
Please check and confirm.

The message show as below
No master data was deleted
Message no. RSDMD129
Diagnosis
No master data was deleted. Either because it was all being used, or because the user did not want to delete upon request.
Procedure
First delete the master data in the places, in which it is still being used:
1. In the InfoCube
2. As an attribute
3. In a hierarchy
Then try deleting again.
Please suggest how to search the same.
I will re- check ,
Hi
1. One alternative, you just try to delete that infoobject, you will get error message as below:
Still used in Infocube XXXXXX( default)
When you right click on an info object, you get "Additional Functions" , therein you have one option of "Display Logs".
This takes you to SLG1 transaction and shows the detailed error log.
Please check if you have set detailed logging ( /SAPAPO/C4 transaction).
This way you will get list of infocubes or other objects where the infobject is being used.
2. Otherwise, please click on the characteristic ( info object) and click "where-used" button to find out all the objects where your info object is used. Then go to particualr object and check one by one.
Option1 is not recommended, however.
Hope this helps.
