Availiability check switch off

Hi,

a) There are two places where the availability check can be switched off

1) in the config for checking group , we can switch off the availability not to happen

2) In the configuration of schedule line level, we can switch off.

what is the difference between the above two modes of switching off AC.

b) when we switch off availability check, does system assume infinite stock and confirm schedule lines.

Answer: Switing off the Av Ck at Schedule line level over writes the settings in the Checking Group.

b) when we switch off availability check, does system assume infinite stock and confirm schedule lines.

Answer:

Schedule line will be determined in order based on Item category and MRP. If MRP is no planning, then the schedule line determined will have No Av Ck and the ATP is not checked during order processing and stock gets confirmed itrrepective of the stock available or not.

Hi,

There are 3 levels at which availabilty check (yes or no) is mainatined.

1. Checking group (This is assigned in the the material master)

2. Requirement class

3. Schedule line category

In order to make the Availability check to be active it should be activated at all these 3 levels. If it is deactivated at any level then based on the combination in the sales documents (the Checking group, req class (based on req type) and schedule line category) the availabilty check will or will not happen.
