hi,

i am trying to download system copy doc from service market place and sdn for netweaver 2004 ecc5 abap stack from windows IA64 bit to x86 machine.

I affraid it is not available

1. Can any body help me to find the url of system copy?

2. one more thing I am tring to make system copy between

sourch system = Windows IA64 Bit

Target System = Windows x86 machine

which system copy i have to download homogenious or Hetrogenious ?

ECC version and Database is same .

In your scenario, you need to perform HETROGENEOUS system copy as source hardware is 64bit and target hardware is 32bit.

In Homogenious system copy, hardware, SAP version, Database all should be same...

As of basis release 6.20 productive use of 32-bit platforms is not recommended.

You're wrong, it's are standart homogeneous system copy on most DB's....

As the both are :

4103 Little Endian Alpha, Intel X86 (and clones),

X86_64, Itanium (Windows+Linux),

Solaris_X86_64

The bit are not affect you can do 32 to 64 and vice versa. Regards.

The system copy for netweaver 2004 ecc5 abap stack from windows IA64 bit to x86 machine is a homogenous copy.

Homogenous copy is done in case of changing from 32 bit to 64 bit and vice versa. But 64 bit to 32 bit is not recommended in production environments, because of 32 bit memory limitations.

The heterogenous copy is done only if you are changing the OS or the database.

Which DB? You mean copy from IA64 to 32bit x86 or x86_64(x64)?
