Displaying 10 characters for a feild in a smartforms

Hi all,

I have this feild in smartform &L_CARGO_TYPE(C)& the requirement is to make it accept 10 characters only. Can you help me please. Thanks in advance

Create a PROGRAM LINE just before using the variable with the code....

L_CARGO_TYPE = L_CARGO_TYPE(10).

Now, print your varibale in text element as &L_CARGO_TYPE(C)& .

Any ideas please, i tried to &L_CARGO_TYPE(C)(10)& I get an error saying invalid symbol can you help please

define a variable with ten character and assign your field to this variable before you display it. and instead of displaying L_CARGO_TYPE, display the new variable with ten char.
