BI upgrade

Hi,

We are upgrading from BW 3.5 to BI 7 Analysis Authorizations.

In BW 3.5 the security is implemented at Info Area level using the authorization objects S_RS_COMP and S_RS_ICUBE.

Using the analysis authorization concept, can we implement restrictions at the info area level. I know that we can use

0TCAIPROV - to restrict the authorization to InfoProviders. Can we use the same for restricting at info area level.

Thanks,

Neha.

Hi Neha,

You can use S_RS_COMP and S_RS_COMP1 in roles for Infoarea restriction. In the Analysis Authorizations also, you can use the characteristic 0TCTIFAREA for giving specific Info Area Values.

Manisha

Hi

In the characteristics for Info providers "0TCAIPROV" you can maintain the hierarchy for Info areas. This would give access for all the info providers within a specific Infoarea.

However you also need to restrict the access for Info area through objects S_RS_COMP and S_RS_COMP1.

Thanks.
