Gagan,

When I run R3trans -D I get an error saying

Could not open the ICU common library

The following files must be in the path described

by the environment variable "LD_Library_Path":

libicuuc.so.30, libicudata.so.30, libicui18n.so.30 [nlsui0.c 1557] pid = 2826

Hi,

It seems to be some problem with your oracle client.

Check if all the files are there.(Mount points are mounted properly may be after reboot some mount points are missing)

Is this new installation or was it working previously?

Check the $oracle_home$/bin for all those dll or may be oracle client location.

Gagan,

We have a distributed landscape. Our database is DB2 on AIX. SAP is on Linux. CI and DI are on two different hosts(linux). I compared all the mount points with CI and they all look the same on DI . The Dialog Instance was installed couple months ago. I think this was the first time we had to stop and start the system. I should tell you when I stopped the system yesterday, I stopped the CI first and then the DI. t-code (rz03). Perhaps DI must have stopped first. I don't know if that is causing any problem.

Just make sure that Kernel Directory is mounted on DI from CI.

Hello Subhash,

I opened putty sessions of both DI and CI and compared the mount points (df -k). DI has all the mount points that CI has. How do I check if the kernel directory is mounted on DI from CI.

Nithin.

if you mounted the /sapmnt/SID/exe directory from your CI to DI then you must have some infomation on df -h. i.e

source server name:/sapmnt /sapmnt/SID/exe

Hello Subhash,

I did df -h on DI host and I see that /sapmnt/DE2 is pointing towards our CI host.

Is the environment variable set as mentioned in error? Hit command "env" on DI and see if you can see anything as per error

Hi Nitin,

Login to OS of Dailog instance and check whether /sapmnt/<SID>/profile/oracle foler is present and all the required files present in the folder.

Which should be smiliar to CI instance.

Thanks

Anil

Problem resolved. The environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH was not set properly on the DI host.

Wrong Path: LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run

Correct Path: LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/sap/SID/<Dialog Instance SID>/exe

Thanks for all your suggestions.
