Hi

Is SAP XI a message oriented middleware ? What EAI topology does it follow ? Hub and spoke or bus ?

XI follows capabilities of both these topologies. So allocating it to 1 topology would be a bit unfair. You may consider it a combination of these 2.

Surely it is....it sends messages, receives messages, transforms messages.

SAP NW PI provides its own MOM. SAP NW PI contains inbound and outbound queues that control the data flow in and out of the central pipeline and that determine the various quality of services such as exactly once (EO) and exactly once in order (EOIO). In the pipeline, various services are called that perform logical and technical routing, and, if applicable, message mapping.
