Transport released it taking more time

Hi Every One,

As i want to transport the program with teir package , smartforms etc.

I created one transport request with transport of copies and include all package in that and released

Its taking more time

Status in the se01 showing request is released

log shows

Checks at Operating System Level 23.04.2010 12:45:48 (0) Successfully Completed

Pre-Export Methods 23.04.2010 12:45:54 (0) Successfully Completed

Checks at Operating System Level 23.04.2010 12:47:23 (0) Successfully Completed

Pre-Export Methods 23.04.2010 12:47:27 (4) Ended with Warning

Export 23.04.2010 15:28:29 Not yet executed

RDDIMPDP program is running parallel in background.

So what i have to check any suggestions please

Schedule RDDNEWPP job and check how much time it take complete.

Hello Shashi,

Check in the SLOG first if you are facing any repeated warnings or errors ??in SM37 try to do a status check on the RDDIMPDP that is running

Hi Niraj,

i sheduled RDDIMPDP job for every 2 minute and it is running fine

what i done is i created another request and transported. its went fine and issue is solved.

but this request is still showing as before now i want to ckear this. how i can do this. shall i delete this request directly.. Any problem with this

That was my doubt. you can see you are getting following warning in the SLOG :

This is semaphore error, it usually occurs when a particular file is being help by one tp process and other tp process is trying to access the same file (in this case its TRPKK900160).

to avaoid this proceed as follows:

1. Stop all imports.

2. Make sure you have no activity which is running the tp or R3trans at OS level.

3. then kill all the active tp and R3trans at OS level.

4. go to /usr/sap/trans/tmp and rename this file TRPKK900160.TRP to TRPKK900160.TRP.old

don't worry system will create the new file next time import runs.

5. retry your import.

Also make sure RDDIMPDP job is scheduled with DDIC user only in every client. if it is scheduled with different user then delete the job, login to the client with DDIC and run RDDNEWPP report via SE38. This will schedule the RDDIMPDP with DDIC.

regarding your transport showing as active, you can clear the status from import monitor.

go to import monitor and then right click on the request and select delete status.this will clear the running status of the request. next once you are done with the above steps you can retry the import.
